Name Dose Therapeutic Effects Uses Contraindication Adverse Effects Lisinopril (Prinvil, Zestril) Class: Angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, antihypertensive agent Onset: 1h tablets 2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg, 30mg, 40mg Improved cardiac output & exercise tolerance due to inhibition of ACE Hypertension, alone or concomitantly w/ other classes of antihypertensive agents CHF, To improve MI survival Patients with a history of angiodema related to treatment with an ACE inhibitor,ACE inhibitor hypersensitivity Headache, dizziness, fatigue Hypotension, chest pain, Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, constipation, intestinal angioedema, Neutropenia, Dyspnea, cough, Azotemia, hperkalemia, increased BUN, & creatinine levels Diltiazem (Cardizem, Cardizem CD, cardizem LA, Cartia XT, Dilacor XR, Tiazac, Taztia XT Class: Calcium channel blocking agent, antianginal, antihypertensive 120mg, 180mg, 240mg sustatined released Slows SA & AV node conduction, dilates coronary arteries & arterioles & inhibits coronary artery spasm, thus myocardial oxygen delivery is increased (antianginal effects), by vasodilation of peripheral arterioles, drug decreases total peripheral vascular resistance & reduces arterial BP at rest (antihypertensive effect) Vasospastic angina, chronic
