Comm 200 Study Guide Exam 3 Haynes Fall 2010 Exam 3 is worth 75 points. The majority of the exam will be multiple choice. So make sure you bring your own scantron. However, there will be also be a section of short answer/essay questions. For those answers I will provide you with paper. The objective of this exam is to make sure you have a clear understanding of each of these three theories AND be able to clearly compare and contrast them. Good luck! This study guide is intended to supplement and focus your exam review. Concentrate on lecture notes provided to you for each chapter, referring to the text for detail. Chapter 18: Aristotle’s The Rhetoric How did Aristotle define rhetoric? How did Aristotle view human nature? How did Aristotle distinguish rhetoric from dialectic? What are the assumptions of Aristotle’s The Rhetoric ? What are the three (3) genres of rhetorical discourse? Be able to recognize each and the setting, purpose, and time frame.
