Unformatted text preview: EE 567 – Integrated Power Electronics DESIGN STRATERGY UC3854 Power Factor Correction IC with the 250 watt preregulator has been designed. In general R & D labs in many institutions needs a good high power DC supply with lower cost. This requirement is satisfied by designing a 250 watt power factor correction high power supply circuit. The expected output is to get high power supply with reduced total harmonic distortion and unity power factor. This function of reducing THD can be done using UC 3854 which is power factor correction chip. The circuit is designed in such a way that the output voltage is constant 380v DC with the input of variable AC source of 80v to 270v.the circuit has a rectifier, boost converter and offset voltage cancellation topologies that gives high power DC supply. The circuit is simulated and analyzed using PSPICE simulation software. After the circuit is designed the input voltage is applied through a signal generator (80-270v) and the output of 380v Dc is checked in CRO.If the results are the same then review generator (80-270v) and the output of 380v Dc is checked in CRO....
