Yusra Muhammad English 220 Option 2: Passage from Frankenstein: “It was on a dreary night of November that I beheld the accomplishment of my toils. With an anxiety that almost amounted to agony….. This passage has been taken from the novel written by Marry Shelly, Frankenstein. This book was written during the eighteenth century, the time when the Romantic Movement was at its peak. The novel starts with a few letters, which portray the same level of heightened emotions portrayed in the novel. Throughout the novel, Shelly uses such intense emotions which engulf the reader into feeling the same way as the characters feel. Her use of words for sad events made me feel what the characters were going through. The Romantic Movement’s goals were basically to emphasize on emotions without reason, usually pertaining to imagination. It emphasized more on the beauty of nature and the love of human beings.
