Brittney Brown July 26, 2010 Stat 4210 Homework 5 1. For the stepwise, the model suggests that only cancer volume and seminal vesicle invasion should be in the model. The alpha for entering was 0.05 and 0.1 for leaving. The value of S is 31.1. This is concerning. The adjusted r-squared is around 41.9% which is really low. The Mallows Cp is 2.5. The PRESS value is 106063, which is really high. The predictive R-squared is around 33.5%. For the forward, the alpha for entering was 0.5. The model suggested that again only cancer volume and seminal vesicle invasion should be in the model. The value of S, PRESS, Mallows Cp, and R-squared were the same as stepwise. For the backwards, the model suggested that with an alpha of 0.1 for leaving the model allowed weight, age, degree of capular penetration, and gleason to leave the model. Again the value of S, PRESS, Mallows Cp, and R-squared were the same as stepwise. The model with the lowest Cp value was the model with cancer volume
