Observing Lab Be aware that observatory sessions may be cancelled at short notice. Plan to go early in the semester. Scheduled observatory sessions that you may attend are as follows: b Monday 8 February 2010: Start Time ~6:30PM. S Monday 22 February 2010: Start Time ~6:45PM. S Monday 1 March 2010: Start Time ~7:00PM. S Monday 15 March 2010: Start Time ~8:00 PM. S Monday 22 March 2010: Start Time ~8:15 PM. S Monday 5 April 2010: Start Time ~8:30 PM. S Monday 19 April 2010: Start Time ~8:30 PM. On the day of your observatory visit check about half an hour before the scheduled time (note that the time changes as the semester goes on due to the changing time of sunset), to make sure the session has not been cancelled, updates will be here http://physics.gmu.edu/~hgeller/observing.html Take with you: Fresh sky map (Ask observatory staff to sign this map as proof of your attendance) Blank paper for sketching and taking notes Pencil Your visit: The observatory is popular and lines can be long. The only way to reach the observatory is by elevator.
