Please drop your homework in the homework box in the electrical machines lab until 17:00 Q.1. Consider an ac machine with cylindrical rotor and stator. The mean air-gap radius is 20 cm, the core length is 30 cm and the air-gap length is 1 mm. μ 0 =4 π .10 -7 H/m. The stator has a 2 pole, 3 phase, double layer, fractionally pitched, distributed winding spread over 12 slots. Each coil side contains 5 conductors. The stator winding is excited by a 3 phase balanced ac currents given by: i a (t)=10 cos100 π t A, i b (t)=10 cos(100 π t-2 π /3) A, i c (t)=10 cos(100 π t-4 π /3) A Considering the attached sheet: a) Utilizing the information indicated on the expanded stator, find the chording angle (coil span). b) Complete the winding diagram.
