Critics of Globalization Not everyone likes globalization. Critics of globalization have the following major arguments: 1. Globalization is a threat to national sovereignty: Some people believe that the United Nations and the World Trade Organization are threats to our national sovereignty, and that the benefits of globalization do not outweigh the costs. For example, the World Trade Organization ruled that the United States violated its international obligations when it prohibited the importation of fish caught with nets that lacked devices that help dolphins escape.
