PFLAG Hartford and True Colors, Inc. Helen and Bob Brill Scholarship Information and Instruction Sheet Any Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex or Ally (LGBTIA) youth ages 16-24 who is currently attending or is planning to attend a college/technical school, or an accredited post high school program, and who is active in school or the community concerning LGBTIA issues is eligible to apply. The money must be used toward post high school education. The applicant must be a resident of Connecticut and must not be a previous Brill scholarship recipient Candidates must have graduated from high school or its equivalent by July 1 of the year in which they will use the scholarship. They must have sufficient academic records to be accepted by an accredited college, university, or technical institute. Students already enrolled at such a school are also eligible to apply. Judges will take into consideration the candidate’s support, education or advocacy service or activity in the LGBTIA community, other interests, the essay, the answers to this application, recommendations, and other factors in arriving at the choice of their recipient(s). At least $2,000.00 will be awarded.
