Maddy Scully ENST 150 9/7/10 Ireland The world is filled with so many different varieties and cultures, it seems impossible to take it all in. However, there are even more complex and pressing issues going on behind the scenes. Ireland is just one of almost 200 countries in the world, and yet, it is one of great importance to the entire being of our earth. It has seen centuries of change and development, both technologically and culturally. Located to the west of the United Kingdom, Ireland is a large European island in the North Atlantic Ocean. It is unevenly separated into two parts, the Republic of Ireland occupying five-sixths of the island, and Northern Ireland occupying just one-sixth. The two different parts of Ireland are under separate jurisdictions. Climate change presents extreme problems for the country. Since animals base their habitats off of climate, any kind of change can dramatically affect Ireland’s wildlife. Ireland’s rarest fish, the pollan, would be at great risk of becoming extinct if waters began to get warmer. Species that
