Testing The predicted beding tensile stress was found to be 675 μin/in. After testing the group’s gantry hoist, the strain was found to be 690 μin/in. This number was very near our prediction. The reason why the measured strain was exactly what the tram predicted was a result of little accurary in the measuring device. During testing, the strain value was continually fluctuating between 660 and 700 μin/in. The group recorded the strain value which the teacher’s assistant felt was correct. There is a slight possibility of human error in the reading of the strain value.
