As the story of The Scarlet Letter unfolds, Hester, Dimmesdale and Chillingworth all change dramatically. Describe these changes. 1. Introduction a. Introductory statements- As time goes on people change either for the better or worse. b. Thesis statement- As the story of The Scarlet Letter unfolds, Hester, Dimmesdale and Chillingworth all change dramatically. c. Introduce supporting ideas- These changes don’t have to be just physically either. The change could be spiritual or mental changes, but one thing if for certain, they all changed. 2. Body a. First supporting idea- Hester Prynne i. Transition, topic sentence- If you can notice Hester makes one of the biggest changes in this book. ii. Discussion, analysis- She goes from being suicidal (1Q) and so ashamed of who she was to being a very valiant and brave woman. The longer she wears the scarlet letter she starts to see it as part of her identity and accepts it. I believe that though the scarlet letter she became this courageous woman because instead
