Unformatted text preview: Discussion: The results supported our hypothesis. We thought photosynthesis would only occur in the green section of the leaf. Once we finished the procedure and added the iodine we noticed change only on the outer part of our leaf. We noticed darker black spots on what was the green section of our leaf. The middle area which was a reddish purple was clear. No starch was present in the middle of the leaf. Therefore, no photosynthesis occurred in the middle, just in the outer green sections of the leaf. Page 170 Hypothesis: • Chlorophyll b is the most polar.
