Zack Nash Nature Essay 10/18/2010 There is a big controversy surrounding farms these days. The two major kinds of farms are organic and industrial. Many people think that industrial farms are bad because most of them mistreat animals. Other people think that organic farms are bad because there food is extremely expensive. This debate was mentioned in The Omnivore’s Dilemma by Michael Pollan. He had an opinion based on his experience. This is a debate that will go on for a long time; however, there is a lot of information showing what the right answer to this problem is. The world needs both of these farms to survive. Today, there are multiple different kinds of farms. Many people think that industrial farms are bad because they mistreat animals. Many of the industrial farms have feedlots where animals are put together with nowhere to move. They are fed corn because it is very cheap for the farmers.
