Body Size Heritability vs Environment Jared Diamond PhD, the author of Guns Germs, and Steel , wrote an article in 1987 entitled ‘The Worst Mistake in the History of the Human Race’*. In it he pointed our that hunter-gatherers in Greece and Turkey 10,000 yrs ago were 5’9” and 5’5” for men and women.
