1. An LCD monitor is what type of display device? What are the technologies used by LCD screens to display color? Explain those technologies. Answer. An LCD monitor is a lightweight display device with a shallow depth and flat screen that typically used LCD or gas plasma technology. An LCD uses a liquid compound to preset information on a display device. 1) Resolution is the number of horizontal and vertical pixels in a display device. A higher resolution uses a greater number of pixels and thus provides a smoother, sharper and clearer image. 2) Response time of an LCD monitor or screen is the time in milliseconds that it takes to turn a pixel on or off, the lower the number, the faster the response time. 3) Brightness of an LCD monitor or LCD screen is measured in nits, the higher the nits, the brighter the images. 4) Dot pitch, sometimes called pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters between pixels on a display device, the lower the number the sharper the images. 5) Contrast ratio
