MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY ESL 220-2 AND -12, FALL 2010 Instructor-of-Record: Michael Morris morrism@msu.edu PERFORMANCE, IN-CLASS STANDARDS, NEEDS The syllabus for this ESL 220 section has been issued (as at September13). This is a compact check-list summarizing some performance and in-class needs as specified in that syllabus. At all times, each student is to have at hand: a reliable dictionary; a supply of white, lined, fully- standard size (USA size) paper; all 220 coursework done previously; all 220 course handouts; a suitable pen (after this week, no pencil-written work will be accepted). Lateness is not acceptable. If students on occasion find it necessary to do so, they are permitted to interchange between this faculty’s two sections (earlier class meets in Wells Hall room C200 at 12:40 on Tu/Th/Fr; later class in Olds Hall room 109 at 4:50 on M/Tu/Th). This privilege is not to be abused. Excuses such as missing the bus, not finding parking, sleeping late, and other such nonsense are rejected (in any case, they indicate disorganization, ill-preparedness and general
