Competitors Analysis eBay is one of Top three competitors Amazon faces. eBay runs the world's largest online trading community. As of December 2010, 94.5 million active users have used the marketplaces segment and in the fourth quarter of 2010. They accounted for total gross merchandise volume (including vehicles) of $17.0 billion ($16.3 billion). Brands they have been advertising are eBay, Half.com, PayPal, Skype, Bill Me Later, Shopping.- com, StubHub, Rent.com and WorldofGood.com. The company has grown to establish a strong brand and market position, however, eBay faces high risk of internet fraud. Efficient business model has been helping eBay to expand its customer base as well as revenue. The online marketplace offers unlimited variety of goods and quality of goods, which traditional market may not be able to offer. Moreover, eBay maintains zero inventory unlike amazon.com and other competitors, which makes it possible for eBay neglect inventory costs. The size of eBay’s marketplaces is one of the largest in the world. Over 3 million items are bought daily across 50,000 categories on ebay.com. Right now, ebay.com accounts for approximately 13% share of the global eCommerce. eBay’s advertising and classifieds brought in great deal of profits. 12% of total net revenue is caused by advertising revenue. In 2009, Interbrand Design Forum ranked eBay 11th in the category of “the most valuable US re- tail brands”. Besides eBay the other retailers with only online presence on the list were Dell
