Name: G Number: Laboratory #Types of Adders ECE 332 1 Introduction In this laboratory you will compare Ripple Carry adder and a combination of Ripple and Carry Look-Ahead adder in terms of speed and estimated area. You will have to only show a correct functional simulation of both the adder circuits to complete this lab. Parts of this have already been completed in the pre-lab. 2 Design and Simulation In the pre-lab you have written expression for carry generate and propagate circuits and designed a 1-bit Full adder to be used for Carry Look-Ahead(CLA) adder. In lab you will complete the design and simulate its functionality by doing a functional simulation only. You will not implement the adders on your Coolrunner-2 CPLD board. You will be expected to complete the following items as part of this experiment: 1. Expressions for Carry generate, propagate and carry outputs for a CLA adder (pre-lab) 2. Implement the 4-bit CLA adder shown in Fig 1 3. Add the Delays given in the table below to the behavioural discription of both CLA and
