ESPM 50 AC – Final paper
Throughout this semester, we have learned about the different ways diverse
groups think about and interact with natural resources.
For this writing assignment, I would like
you to critically analyze a
issue or conflict (within the last decade) having to do
with natural resources through the lens of narrative, identity, power, and representation. Select a
topic that has personal relevance to you, and provide a critical analysis on how your background
and experiences influence the perspective(s) you present.
1) Draft paragraph and preliminary thesis:
Week of April 5th in section
2) Final draft:
April 30th in lecture
5-7 pages, double-spaced with 12-point font and 1” margins
You must use at least 4 references. At least 2 of these must be from outside of

musical, and electronic arts, etc.
Primary historical sources, including government publications and statistics, maps,
