UC Berkeley – Haas School of Business UGBA 102A Financial Accounting – Fall 2010 GROUP PROJECT Project Overview Students in the past have found it both interesting and a useful learning experience to study the annual report of a publicly-traded US company in depth. You can assume that an investment advisor has hired you to write a report as to whether or not they should buy a particular stock for their clients’ portfolio. The objectives of the project are: To become familiar with an annual report. To use financial accounting information for decision making. The timeline for the project is: October 8 – Form Groups Form a group of 6 students. Sign up your name and email address on bspace by October 8. If you do not have a group, you will have the opportunity to sign up for one at that time. Learning to work effectively in a group is often a challenge but is critical to success in the business world. You will need to “self-monitor” your groups to insure good working relationships and equal contribution from all members of the group. If a group member does not
