Distributive Justice Unequal distribution of resources. A distribution of resources that is naturally unequal needs to be rectified. This is done by our social and political institutions, e.g. taxation for welfare, healthcare, etc. Nozick thinks distributive justice requires too much interference. Only a minimal state is justified. A state that interferes with people’s property rights by taxing them is not a minimal state. Natural resources may be distributed unequally but that does not make them unjust. E.g. marriage.

Justice and entitlements Principle of entitlement of acquisition Holdings acquired in accordance with the principle of justice in acquisitions is entitled to that holding. Principle of entitlement of transfer Holdings acquired in accordance with the principle of justice in transfer by someone who is entitled to those holdings is entitled to that holding. Principle of exhaustiveness
