INDEX OF REFRACTION OF INORGANIC LIQUIDS This table gives the index of refraction n of several inorganic substances in the liquid state at specified temperatures. The mea-surements refer to ambient atmospheric pressure except for sub-stances whose normal boiling points are greater than the indicated temperature; in this case the pressure is the saturated vapor pres-sure of the substance. All values refer to a wavelength of 589 nm unless otherwise indicated. Entries are arranged in alphabetical order by chemical formula as normally written. Data on the index of refraction at other temperatures and wave-lengths may be found in Reference 1. References 1.
