Sheet1 Page 1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE MATHCAD DEMO DISK 1. GENERAL POINTERS:(the arrow keys) Remember that Mathcad operations are performed on either parts or wholes of equations. Consequently, it is crucial to indicate exactly what part of an equation is being affected by some given operation. The upper and lower arrow keys are crucial to these processes. Placing the cursor at a location will merely insert one or more symbols. Consequently, after placing the cursor within an equation the up arrow key is used to enlarge the portion of the equation that is changed. The reverse is achieved by using the down arrow key. (running programs) Two important commands are located within the Math options list. The first is Calculate and the second is Calculate document. The command Calculate will execute any equation or graph that is highlighted. As its name implies, the Calculate document command will calculate an entire document. (modes of operation) Beneath the Calculate and Calculate document commands
