Kyle Bryant April 12, 2020 Dr. Lori Parks Art 189 Reading Response M2: Rockwell Norman Rockwell’s art was associated with the American Imagery through mid-20th century paintings. He actually depicts what the American life looks like from the outside looking in. He took on issues like class divides, democratic values, gender shift in roles, and accepting different religions and races within his paintings, which is all of what the american life is about. Relating to the American dream, Rockwell created a sense of freedom that the American dream entails. He just displayed his sight of the American dream and American issues on a canvas. Even though he was discouraged to put out his Four Freedoms posters, because of the sensitivity and conflict that came with the posters. At that time there was no need for conflict and issue because they were in the middle of war and didn’t want any form of propaganda to stir things up. When he explained his ideas of simplicity with the Four Freedoms proclamation, his whole view point was
