1 BUS 595: Brazil and the Global Business Environment Spring 2010 General Information: Instructor: Prabhu Aggarwal Office: Miller Hall 2019H Email: Prabhu.Aggarwal@mason.wm.edu Phone : 757-221-2242, Fax 221-7862 Office Hours: By Appointment Only The objective of this course is to better understand the global business environment, how companies should strategically position themselves when competing globally, and how different regions of the world are positioned to compete in the global market place. The classroom experience is supplemented by a visit to Brazil (One of the fastest growing regions in the world) and it’s role in the global business environment. The international program focuses of business and economy, politics, culture, and business practices in Brazil. The students have the opportunity to visit Brazilian corporations that are world benchmarks, and to participate in classes with Brazilian MBA students to talk about current global business issues. Visits are planned to Brazil multinationals, NGO’s, Government agencies, and cultural events. Locations
