Faseeh Riaz Student Number: 210867588 Course:HLST1011 TA: Danielle Bishop Vincent lam raises an interesting point in his article, a point that is often overlooked by the Canadian society. Sometimes, your medical future does not depend on the doctor sitting in front of you instead it lies on the shoulders of the country’s health care system. In his article he raises the point that too often people come are forced to face the fact that the Canadian health care system is poorly funded and lacks necessary and vital resources, resources that are vital for any health care institution e.g. ICU beds and Human resources etc. Emergency physicians face this problem every day that they wear their white lab coat and put their stethoscope around their necks on their way to work. Patients in the emergency room are forced to wait hours upon hours to get any medical attention. This is not because the doctor cannot deliver a diagnosis; it is because the doctor does not possess enough resources to deal with the problem at hand. The emergency department has evolved into a waiting room, where patients arrive and have no choice but to wait for hours to
