Michael Ruggiero Professor VillarrealMLG 312March 9th, 2020Module 3 Paper : Violence After reading through these stories over the past couple of days one topic has really stoodout in parts of them. That topic is violence, it reoccur multiple times throughout each given story.Violence is described as behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or killsomeone or something. I saw that a lot throughout these stories, in a few they weren't as bad butthere is still violence seen. I will provide examples of each story and show how violence is arecurring topic throughout. Not only in these stories but just at the time violence was a majorthing that was happening. To begin I want to start with the story “ El Matadero” by Esteban Echeverria. This isprobably the most intense and gruesome story in the module, and there are many examples ofviolence throughout. To start off the first type of violence seen is not done by a human but ratherby rain, to me it's generalizing the slaughter house name to show nothing can live or be safe therefrom anything. “ In the SlaughterHouse not even one rat remained alive from the manythousands which used to find shelter there. All of them either perished from starvation or weredrowned in their holes by the incessant rain”. (Pg 2-3).
