CHBE 2100 01/29/11 Nam Tu Gummy Bear Mass Balance Report 1. This is a brief description of experiment and data. Step 1, four gummy bears were measured by a ruler(Fig.1). The measurement, volume, and density are represented in the following table: Length (mm) Width(mm) Height(mm) Volume(mL) Density(g/mL) Gummy bear 1 16 9.0 8.0 1.2*10^3 =1.2 mL 2.3 Gummy bear 2 18 8.0 8.0 1.2*10^3 = 1.2 mL 2.3 Gummy bear 3 16 8.0 8.0 1.0*10^3 = 1.0 mL 2.6 Gummy bear 4 16 9.0 8.0 1.2*10^3 = 1.2 mL 2.3 The gummy bear went into the centrifuge tube with exactly 30mL of water in it(Fig2).However, after the 24 hours, both gummy bear is likely smooth in water(fig3,4). Therefore, we started again with the other left gummy bears. In the reproduce experiment, after 24 hours in water, all the water in the first tube is poured into the third tube except for the gummy bear. Then we record the volume of water. Do the same thing with the second tube. With the soaked bear, carefully measure its width, length, and height to calculate the
