Lucero1 Briana Lucero Stephanie Capaldo English 110 June 18, 2010 Cultural Criticism Topic: Facebook General Purpose: Facebook pro’s and con’s Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the effect Facebook has on people. Central Idea: To inform my audience about effects Facebook has on society. Introductions: As I lay on my bed trying to write my English essay for college, a instant message pops up from my new boyfriend John. I immediately get up and run to my computer excitedly and almost instantly I start typing and telling him how much I miss him. Then I realize why couldn’t I do this while I was sitting there trying to work on my English? This is because many individuals are very distracted by Facebook and other sorts of blogs and emails. While this is bad, it is also good because Facebook allows individuals to keep in touch with friends that they might not have without Facebook. This essay will talk about the pro’s, the con’s, and both the pro’s and con’s to Facebook and its effects on society. Body:
