From your own actual racial/ethnic/gender identity, write a letter to the director of the Yale Glee Club saying whether you will or will not participate in singing My Old Kentucky Home. To whom it may concern: I am writing to you today in regards to my participation in singing My Old Kentucky Home being that I am a mixed individual both of the African and Pacific Islander background. I feel as if it would be morally wrong for me to participate in singing My Old Kentucky Home. My reasons are as follows: I come from a family that believes in self-acceptance. For one cannot go through life without accepting oneself-flaws and all. I feel as if this song in its raw content lowers my feelings of self-acceptance. It makes me feel as if my self worth is affordable to the feelings of self-acceptance....
