Experiment 5: Diode Rectifier Circuits Experiment 5 Diode Rectifier Circuit Post-Lab Report Question 1: Compare the measured values of V r and V DC with those calculated using the approximate relations in the Theory section above. Comment on the results in the space below. Measured Calculated V r 1.71 V 1.62 V V DC 5.45 V 5.79 V For the circuits shown in Figs. 1, 2, and 3: Question 2: How is the current rating of the transformer secondary calculated? The measured values are very close to the calculated ones. This is due to the fact of experimental errors and the errors produced by th equipments we are using. We know that I 2 /I 1 = N 2 /N 1 , where N 1 and N 2 are the number of loops on the primary and secondary transformers respectively and I 1 and I 2 are the currents at the primary and secondary transformers. Using the above formula, we can calculate the current rating of the transformer calculated.
