Tara Gibbs Feeder 2.1 Ashley Reed October 4, 2007 PepsiCo. In the News O’Driscoll, Sean. “Action alleges Pepsi dodged $100m in tax.” The Irish Times . 9 Jan 2007. LexisNexis . 20 Sept 2007. < http://www.lexisnexis.com/us/lnacademic>. Earlier this year, The Irish Times reported that Scott Winslow, the former Pepsi Cola distribution analyst, alleged in court documents that the company purposely mislabeled concentrate and warned employees not to interfere. This resulted in Pepsi supposedly evading $100 million in US tariff duties owed on the imported concentrates. Pepsi strongly denied the allegations and claimed Winslow was an upset former employee because he was fired. The case could result in fines of up to $300 million against Pepsi. Mr. Winslow admitted that he was fired, but claims the termination was due to his knowledge of the scam. The PepsiCo US spokesman, David DeCecco, made a public statement in which he said that the lawsuit was “totally frivolous”. This article was highly informative because it clearly stated the facts without a bunch of filler information.
