Multicultural Education in the News EDCI 285 100 points Each class meeting one group will take responsibility for a 15-20 minute presentation of a recent multicultural education issue in the news. You must bring to class a copy of an article from a newspaper, magazine, journal, or website about a current (within last six months) educational issue. The only acceptable sources are: The New York Times The Chicago Tribune The Washington Post The Journal and Courier (West Lafayette/Lafayette issues) The Indianapolis Star Rethinking Schools (website: ) National Public Radio (website: ) In your presentation you should: explain the issue to the class in a clear manner outline the major policies, decisions, issues, etc. that are at stake provide your analysis of the issue frame questions for class discussion. Reminder: Ask yourself who is affected and why it is of importance.
