Will give out the topics on Monday See the deep down disagreement about reason Assumptions (studied by all philosophers we have studied so far) o If we have representations (Belief? Emotion? Desire?) of value then we can discover value facts o If we can’t, then that means that there are no value facts to be discovered Mind o Emotions/Desires Represent value Good life view? o Some desires can be good and some can be bad o Would not be “I’ll satisfy all of my desires” because some are bad desires o Involves the good desires only, not all desires Example o If I desire to leave the classroom, so leaving the classroom is good in certain ways There are good desires and bad desires Slote, Gaita Non-representational Eg. Drives instincts It’s like an itch that you can’t get rid of Doesn’t have a claim on how the world is, you just have this desire and the only way to get rid of it is to satisfy it

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
