Introduction to Sociology Summer 2008 Mon-Thurs 9:45-11:20am Winders Assignment 3: Criminal Activities Purpose: First, this exercise asks you to check off on a checklist any crimes that you have committed in the last five years. Second, either justify your own deviant behavior or justify why you have not committed any acts that are deviant. The objective of this exercise is to help you learn more about the way people think about crime and deviance. Criminal Activities Checklist: This checklist is specific for the state of Georgia. The first three numbers in parentheses are the criminal code, e.g., 16-5-20 for A tried to hit another person, but did not succeed. @ The number after the colon is the maximum number of years that you would serve for committing this crime, e.g., 1 year for A Tried to hit another person, but did not succeed. @ Guidelines: 1. Check off all crimes on the A Criminal Activities Checklist @ that you have participated in within the last five years. 2.
