Opportunities for Innovation; Favor Incumbents Wright Brothers invent the airplane. Military aircraft begin flying over Thomas ee and inie Edwin Armstrong invented FM radio (1933 patent.) Financed construction of first FM station (42.8 MHz) in 1937. Lee and Tinie Causby’s land, causing their chickens to die. 1945: RCA , originally R adio C orporation of A merica, lobbied the FCC to move FM from the 42- 50 MHz spectrum to the 88-108 MHz spectrum (where it is today.) They sue the federal government for trespass, claiming their property xtended upward. RCA argued that the 42-50 MHz spectrum was needed for TV.
