Lesson Plan Rubric Beginning Developing Accomplished Score 3 points 5 points 10 points Introduction: Motivation The introduction is purely factual and relates little to the learner’s interest. The introduction relates somewhat to the learner’s interests. The introduction draws the learner into the lesson by relating to the learner’s interests. Introduction: Cognitive The introduction does not prepare the learner for what is to come or build on what the learner already knows. The introduction makes some reference to the learner’s prior knowledge and previews to some extent what the lesson is about The introduction builds on learner’s prior knowledge and effectively prepares the learner by foreshadowing what the lesson is about.
