Comm 231-010: Public Speaking Summer 2010 Kylee Cronrath Speaker: Alex Peer Review Assignment For each formal speech assignment, you will be assigned to a particular partner per speech. You and your partner will be responsible for answering the following questions about each other’s speeches: 1) What was your partner’s general speech purpose? Was it clear? If so, why? If not, how could it have been clearer? 1) To inform the class. Yes it was clear because that was everyone’s assignment. It was also clear because she told us in her preview she was going to tell us about something. 2) What was your partner’s specific speech purpose? Was it clear? If so, why? If not, how could it have been clearer? 1) I believe you were trying to inform the class on tattoos. It was not very clear. Perhaps it could have been stated several more times. I was not sure if it was to inform us about what a tattoo is, its history, or the complications, or all three. Was there a tying factor? I’m not sure. Next time try being very un-complicated when stating your purpose. 3) What was your partner’s thesis statement? Was it clear? If so, why? If not, how could it have been clearer? 1) I believe it was to be informed before you get a tattoo. It was sort of clear. I mainly heard and understood the statement at the end of your speech. Perhaps be a bit clearer in the beginning of your speech about the thesis statement by making it obvious, “Today I’m
