Employees are considered an organizational resource like any other. • Harvard Model – employees viewed as more than another resource. Viewed as equal participants whose understanding and commitment to the business strategy is critical. I mportant HR Tasks • Evaluating employees. • Motivating employees. • Promoting employees. • Retaining employees. • Selecting good employees may be the most important function. Job Analysis and Job Description • Should include description of tasks and roles. • Should include input from current employees and other managers. • Can then formulate a formal job description. • Should include general position overview, major measurable responsibilities, who the person reports to and who the person supervises.
