Unformatted text preview: the middle of a poem. Taylor was a minister and teacher of his settlement because of his education. There are many references to the bible in this poem but I can still see some humor of flowery words. This might lead the reader to think he also struggled with weaned affection. I dont think he struggled at all. Weaning of all affections and attachment of earth things and putting them second to God was what he gave sermons on so why would he struggle with it. I found it very interesting that the church also served as a fort which our Professor referenced in the voice thread. Talk about defending your religion. Taylor also spoke of a knot that the sword of Alexander the great could not break, thats romantic I might use that line later this week....
