The maximum score is 10 points. Be sure to review the Syllabus for details about reading reports and their grading ! Feel free to contact me via e-mail if you have specific questions about the report. 1 Instructions for the report For this reading report I want you to take a brief dive into the (recent) history of macroeconomics as a way to answer the following questions: Where are we? Why are we here? Where to go now? (All of the previous refer to macroeconomics. No philosophical or existentialist claims are made.) Thus, I want you to read the paper “A quick refresher course in macroeconomics” by N. Gregory Mankiw 1 . (Note that Mankiw is himself a convinced new Keynesian, so you may expect a bit of bias towards his points of view. 2
