Four Common Elements of a Profession An Organized Body of Knowledge : Leisure services draw knowledge from scientific disciplines, appropriate values and applied skills. Organizations that Exists to Transmit Professional Knowledge : these organizations organize and disseminate the profession’s body of knowledge in a systematic way. Creation of Professional Authority as a Result of Public Sanction : Public sanction means recognition as a profession. Leisure services has not been widely recognized as a profession in the U.S. . Code of Ethics: is developed from the key values of the leisure service profession. Code of Ethics for NRPA , RCRA , NIRSA .
