Within this expert, Emerson answers the question fairly simply: conflict leads to doubt, and doubt teaches to trust, as “Trust. .. that iron string”. Apprehended in this manner, conflict and struggle allows an individual to grow due to the fact that he believes that he does is right, no matter what burdens society has placed on him. “It is easy to live after the world's opinion, it is easy to solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude”. Streams diverge from their raging torrents, striving to become their own cascade of water. Depression would forever envelop the world as no one would ever look back to change what is wrong. On this point, one can see how conflict leads to growth. This one conflict, say – depression; eventually gives one individual an “iron” hope in turning the path towards reformation. In turn, societies notion is to follow success, and so therefore in giving one individual strength, conflict gives birth to leaders....
