Why Study Management? All tasks (in workplace or other settings) generally benefit  from applying effective management techniques. Learning and applying effective management techniques can  enhance performance and in work settings can lead to  recognition and better raises and promotions. Investment firms evaluate the quality of management (people)  and management practices at firms as part of their  recommendations.  Well managed firms generally receive  higher ratings even during challenging times leading to higher  stock prices and easier access to capital.
