Objectives Use a thermocouple to make a temperature measurement system. Gain a better understanding of how thermocouples work, and what they do as a result of this lab. Instruments Used Labview Microsoft Word Set-up Exercise 4.1 The first step for this lab is to connect the thermocouple to Labview, and also set it up. This is done by connecting the thermocouple’s red wire (negative) to terminal 58, and the yellow wire (positive) to terminal 25. We then created the block diagram shown below. We will be measuring the thermocouples output voltage and also its temperature, which is why we have multiple waveform graphs. We have to format the DAQ assistant used in this part. The temperatures are given a range of -20 to 100 o C with continuous task timing. The voltage is set to -100mV to 100mV and it also has continuous task timing. We then have to run our program in three different situations. The first is just having it exposed to room temperature air.
