ABSTRACT Our project mainly deals with home automation, by making use of the wireless ZigBee protocol. For the last few years, we've witnessed a great expansion of remote control devices. To interact with all these remotely controlled devices, we'll need to put them under a single standardized control interface. One of the most promising HAN protocols is ZIGBEE, a software layer based on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.

ZigBee is paving the way for intelligent sensors to provide greater control lighting, heating, appliance-use and security systems from anywhere in and around the home. ZigBee remote has the capability to control the home appliances using the XBee and XBee-Pro RF Modules and Phillips 89C51 micro-controller, displaying the status of the appliance on the LCD.
