1. Reading 1: “The Politics of Housework” by Pat Mainardi in Reader. Article originally published by the Redstockings Group in 1970. Redstockings was an early women's liberation group centered in New York and was responsible for a number of influential writings. Redstockings were a radical feminist group that was most active during the 1970s. The word combines the term “bluestocking”, a pejorative term for intellectual women, with "red", for its association with the revolutionary left.
