David Park English 11 Changing Warming (205) Vocabulary 1. Contentious means causing, involving, or characterized by argument or controversy. A phrase can be contentious if say something like, that was a contentious issue and it needs to be resolved. The root word for contentious is content 2. Glossary is a list of terms in a special subject, field, or area of usage, with accompanying definitions. It comes from the Latin Word glossarium. I would say that they are different because a glossary is a something where you find words and their definitions for a specific terms and dictionary is something where you find the definitions of a lot of words. 3. Apolitical means not involved or interested in politics. It differs from the word political in that it is the opposite of it political meaning pertaining to or concern with politics and apolitical is the opposite of that. The first letter changes the connotation into a negative or opposite one. Unbutton and Button, Unusual and Usual, and Finished and Unfinished.
