Magnesium reacts with hydrochloric acid according to the following equation: Mg (s) + 2 HCl (aq) MgCl 2(aq) + H 2(g) a) What volume of H 2 at a pressure of 0.946 atm and 21 o C can be produced from the complete reaction of 0.415 g of Mg and 50.0 mL of 3.00 M HCl? (12 points) b) Categorize this reaction as an oxidation-reduction, precipitation, or acid-base reaction. If it is oxidation reduction, then identify what is being oxidized and what is being reduced; if it is a precipitation reaction, identify the precipitate; if it is an acid-base reaction then identify the acid and the base in this reaction. (6 points)
